438237Based on the tragic death of Robin Williams, the famous actor, I wanted to write this article highlighting a few aspects that you won’t find written in any Hollywood news article. In case you think I’ll mention a secret that the press omitted to write, I can asure you that you are wrong. My wish is to simply open your eyes to the “things unseen” and omitted in this tragic story.

It is said that the famous actor had died because he had suffer from depression. It is written in any article you’ll find on the net. But what caused this depression? I’m guessing that you’ve probably wondered and asked yourself that question.

Robin Williams had, well, almost anything a person could wish for in this life: fame, money, fancy house, cars, family, reputation, etc. So what’s missing? The answer is: GOD. Don’t let yourself be deceived, fame and money won’t guarantee you a happy life, it’s a fake happy life that Hollywood stars give you the impression that they live, but inside, they’re all depressed and struggling to make it until tomorrow. Despite their fame and riches they have lack of love, a love that can’t be replaced by money, fame or even family, a love that only God can give you. Man was created with that deficiency, the need for God’s love, and strive to fill it up with other earthly things, but all fail

Robin Williams longed for that kind of love, but sadly didn’t know where to find it. A life without God has no meaning and purpose to be lived, no matter how rich, important and successful you would be.

The life of an actor or singer behind the curtain is not very pretty. (Robin Williams was a very good comedian, but that did not mean he lived a happy life!). They are forced to play roles every day that are totally different from their character. Their job is to be someone they aren’t. Feel things that they shouldn’t. And play a role that is fake, creating a movie that actually is a lie. Doing the best that they can to see that movie as reality when actually, it is nothing but a lie.

“Ok, so what? I like movies, what’s the big deal? It is their job, perfectly normal for them to act, their called actors!” you might say. Yes, they are, by their own choice. But what they don’t realise is that they will never be the same again. How do I know all these things? Yes, I’ve never been an actor, but I personally heard an interview of a very famous actor from my country that turned to God and know is a christian. He did an interview based on Robin Williams death explaining and sharing with us from his own experience, what it takes to be an actor. Think that ordinary people do not know.

To play a movie role so perfectly, making people believe that the movie is actually reality, the actors must change their character, behaviour and way of thinking. Sort of being in someone else’s shoes, as you might say. And afterwards, even if the movie is done, the actor remains with the same character and will never be the same again. I repeat, this was told personally by an actor, not me. I’m not inventing stories, it is reality! Same goes for all the singers, to sing a joyful or down-hearted song the singer must feel inside the lyrics that he/she is singing in order to actually make us feel the message their song should send. You’ve probably realised that our condition changes in alliance with the songs that we listen to. Or possibly realised that when you are angry to tend to listen to rock music, or when sad to listen to a slow Celine Dion song, or when happy to a rythmic pop song. Also depends on the taste in music, but that’s another story, I’ll stick to my point.

Point is when actors and singers finish up with their roles/concerts, in order to “go back to reality” they call up to alcohol, drugs and others to forget about their “problems” and feel a bit of joy. They long for a way out. That need for God I mentioned earlier. So if you believed that they have an amazingly happy life, without gaps, you were wrong. They have the biggest gap, because they don’t have God.

I like to look at things this way, for example Thomas Edison created the light bulb, but in order for it to work it needs electricity. Same thing with humans, God created them, but in order for them to live well in this world, they need God’s love. Yes, it is true that God does not obligate anyone to follow Him, it is our liberty to choose, but life without God will one day become pointless, just like it became for Robin Williams.

It is no wonder why the famous actor suffered from depression. To live on your own is hard, but to live in God’s love is totally worth it!

Not long ago I downloaded Anthem Lights new album “You Have My Heart” which contained a song entitled “Dear Hollywood”. After the tragic death of Robin Williams the entire world should listen closely and pay very much attention to the lyrics of this song. It is a message that Hollywood should hear!

The lyrics will be written below and I warmly encourage you to listen to the song…

There’s a cross that’s lit up on you hill tonight
crying desperately for you attention
but caught up in the glitz and fashion lights
you’re blind to everything that you’ve been missing
and it breaks my heart that you can’t look away

Dear hollywood,
I wish you would
see the truth
Dear hollywood,
there’s so much good
that you could do
with so many eyes watching you
Hollywood

Broken hearted but pretending you’re alright
you’ve lived out every dream but something missin
there’s a bigger picture calling you tonight
you could know your worth if you would only listen

Dear hollywood,
I wish you would
see the truth
Dear hollywood,
there’s so much good
that you could do
with so many eyes watching you

there’s so much more to give
so much more to gain
when all the world is listening
there’s so much more to say
[x2]

The song’s lyrics (“Broken hearted but pretending you’re alright
you’ve lived out every dream but something missin’
there’s a bigger picture calling you tonight
you could know your worth if you would only listen”) are a perfect example of the way Robin Williams felt like. He was broken hearted, but pretending he was alright, something was missing. Little did he know that his answer was right above his eyes, in the sky, God, waiting with His hands wide open for Robin Williams to call out to Him. But sadly, he did not know what was missing and decided life is not worth living anymore, and gave up the fight.

Hollywood is and probably always will be the number one place in making successful movies, but the movies that are made destroy more lives than build them up. Because as the interviewed actor had said, movies create us the fake image of a “perfect life” that doesn’t exist, it is a fantasy! Not real. And so, we wonder why there are so many divorces, failed marriages, suicides and depressed people in this world? Because they believe in the fake life presented to them on the screen. And want a “perfect” life as the one seen in the movies. Which actually, in reality, it is nothing but a lie. And more than 90% of the earth’s population ends up believing a lie.

Instead, Hollywood could do such much good in this world, through it’s movies thousands of people could get to know Jesus, it could save lives. All it needs is a push in the right direction. With so many eyes watching “Hollywood” on screen, there would definitely be a positive difference in the world.

Robin Williams had died, but so many other people, including famous ones, still have a chance to salvation!

In the end I warmly suggest you also listen to the song and you’ll definitely understand my message better, as well. Hope it made a difference and opened your eyes to the truth this world hides.
