Based on a fantastic true story and designed into a merely good one in ,,Unbroken”.
Unbroken is a 2014 American biographical war drama film, produced and directed by Angelina Jolie and based on the 2010 non-fiction book by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption.
Why is this movie that good?
The movie alone would be good, or maybe great, but what makes it incredible is the true back story of it.
Main actor/character is Jack O’Connell playing Louis “Louie” Zamperini. If you like true inspirational stories and war films, adventures and mystery, than ,,Unbroken” is definitely a film that you’ll enjoy!
What I personally liked about this movie was the fact that it held a true story based on a strong man’s life, the teachings that the film holds, and that it includes very few scenes of war, bombs and terrorism. The entire movie shows a sequence of the World War II, conflicts between USA and Japan, and how a very brave and strong man called Louie Zamperini, also an Olympic athlete, survived and lived during this crisis.
He also survived for 47 days on a raft, then was sent to a series of prisoner of war camps in Japan. As he grew, Louie became an accomplished distance runner, earning the nickname “The Torrance Tornado,” and eventually qualified for the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Louie does surprisingly well in the Olympics, coming in 8th and setting a record for speed in the final lap in the 5000 meters race, running it in 56 seconds.
Why the movie title ,,Unbroken”?
Shortly, because Louie Zamperini was unbroken. Nobody and nothing could brake him. Want to find out why? His secret? Then take some popcorn, make yourself comfortable on a couch, gather some friends and family and watch ,,Unbroken” the movie.
Find out yourself why this movie inspired lives and let yourself be amazed as well.
