Creativity is the use of imagination or original ideas to create something; inventiveness. Photography is the art or practice of taking and processing photographs. If we stick these two definitions, the truth behind photography and creativity reveals: In order of being creative, ideas must be original. Taking photographs means practice in capturing places or people that already exist.

So question is, can these two (creativity and photography) go together? > Yes.

Photography requires 3 simple things:

  1. A high quality camera
  2. Some talent
  3. Practice

Creativity is more of a quality some of us are born with.

Can all people be creative?

Let’s see. A writer can take your into a totally different dimension, world, with just a novel. A painter can lead you into his thoughts using a painting. A singer can influence you in feeling the same feelings he experiences.

I do believe a hint of creativity lies in all of us, just in different quantities. Some poses more, some less. Not two people are exactly the same in our massive number of 7 billion.

Can creativity be associated with photography?

Yes. In order of being a good photographer you need to know the right angles to take that perfect shot that an entire room of people would whisper ‘wow’ at. A photographer does not create or invent something, he captures the beauty in the world and moments we later on collect as memories. He then edits his pictures with a quote, artwork or special effects. That, requires creativity.

Would you like to discover your level of creativity?

First, discover what your strong point is. A talent, a passion. Start practicing. Enjoy your results. For most of us, the lucky ones, born in the 90’s, technology became a way of life, a way to make a living. For some, filming their daily life and uploading that content on YouTube got them more money than most people make in a year.

My advice is to profit from this. Not all people are born to be doctors, lawyers or engineers. World needs confident creative people like yourself. Invent something, create an app, start a blog, sell things online… option is yours. Life is full of possibilities.
